 The City of Roswell has an estimated population of 53,000 contained within its 29 Square miles and is located close to many points of interest such as national parks, great hunting and fishing, and family recreational areas. Known around the world for tourism and with its mild temperatures and economic stability, the City of Roswell is growing, and with that growth, brings many new businesses and a greatly expanding community. Roswell is also the home of the New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI), as well as, the home of the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) which has trained thousands of foreign police officers from around the world. Roswell also has an International Airport with daily flights by American Airlines and is classified as a free trade zone.
It is the mission of the Roswell Police Department to provide equal protection of the law to all persons.
To conduct policing operations within the framework of the U.S. Constitution and the Constitution of the
State of New Mexico. To treat all persons with dignity and respect. To investigate all criminal matters
and bring before the courts all violators of the law and to assist in the prosecution of the same.
The Roswell Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency dedicated to providing the highest level of service possible to our community. Our department is made up of a team of men and women dedicated to serving the needs of the community, providing police services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In 2011 the Roswell Police Department responded to nearly 58,000 calls for service. The Roswell Police Department is located at 128 W. Second Street, Roswell New Mexico 88203.

While having faced many recent challenges, I am optimistic that the Department will meet them with unity and tenacity, working side-by-side to enhance the quality of life of our residents. As the Department moves ahead, I look forward to providing the best police service possible. I am optimistic that this Department will continue on the path of excellence as we continue to address the needs of our diverse community with professionalism and determination. As we develop programs, implement technology and take on new initiatives, know that our department regards the City’s residents as its highest priority.
 Our mission is to help make the City of Roswell a safe place to live and work by forming partnerships with its citizens and businesses. Our priority is not just writing a crime report after a crime has occurred; it is working with the community to prevent crime and to solve community problems.

1. Participating in a neighborhood watch group or neighborhood improvement committee;
2. Volunteering at a neighborhood school or youth organization;
3. Staying informed and getting involved in the community;
4. Being an observant, caring and considerate neighbor;
5. Volunteering with the Police Department or becoming
active in other service organizations.

En el nombre de los cien miembros dedicados del departmento de Policia de Roswell, Nuevo Mexico quiero dar la bienvenida a la pagina de rede de nuestro departamento de policia.
En lo que nos hemos enfrentado ante tantos retos, soy optimista que el departamento va a salir adelante con unidad y tenencia, trabajando unos con los otros para mejorar la calidad de vida de nuestros habitantes. Como el departamento vaya avanzando, you seguire mirando hacia delante para proveer el mejor servicio policiaco posible. Soy optimista que este departamento continuara por el camino de la excelencia asi como continuaremos reconociendo las necesidades de nuestra diversa comunidad, con profesionalismo y determinacion. Aunque vayamos desarrollando programas, implementando la tecnologia y desenvolviendo iniciativas nuevas, quiero que se de a conocer que nuestro departamento reconoce a los habitantes de la cuidad como nuestra prioridad mas importante.
Nuestra mision es ayudar a que la ciudad de Roswell sea un lugar seguro para vivir y trabajar formando parte con sus ciudadanos y negocios.
Nuestra prioridad no es solamente levantar un reporte criminal despues de que un crimen ha ocurrido; es trabajar con la comunidad para prevenir el crimen y resolver los problemas de la cominudad.
